Four people were killed after a light aircraft crashed at a car auction site in Hampshire this afternoon.
The plane, believed to be a Phenom 300, is said to have come down at British Car Auctions in Yateley, which is on the site of Blackbushe Airport.
It is believed the aircraft overshot the runway as it tried to land, before coming down in the grounds of the auction house and hitting a number of parked vehicles at about 3pm.
Inspector Olga Venner from Hampshire Constabulary confirmed shortly before 7pm that all four people onboard the plane - one pilot and three passengers - had died.
Saudi Arabia's Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the aircraft was registered in the country via Twitter this afternoon.
The post said: "Saudi AIB regrets to inform of an accident of a Saudi registered-private aircraft today in the UK at 1408UTC.
"Initial reports state 4 persons were on board.
"Saudi AIB will assign a Rep. to support @Aaibgovuk in its investigation of the aircraft accident at Blackbusche airport UK".
Witnesses described seeing plumes of thick black smoke in the air as the flames raged.
Robert Belcher, a local aviation enthusiast, said he was driving home when he saw a plume of black smoke coming from the site.
"I was passing the airport on my way home and there was a big column of smoke in the air," he said. "The fire service had closed the road behind me.
"I could see the plume of smoke waving from about five miles away and was hoping it was just a car fire rather than an aircraft accident."
