Angie Vu Ha (born June 3, 1983) is a Vietnamese model,[2][3][4] DJ,[5] and producer,[6] who started modeling in the fashion industry when she was 17.[7] Shortly thereafter, a film director discovered Angie, and gave her a leading role in the TV series.[which?]
Early life and education[edit]
A mixed of French and Viet ancestry, Angie Vu Ha, born Vũ Thị Hà, is the youngest of three sisters. Ha grew up in Quang Ninh, a coal mining town in Northern Vietnam. Her family moved to Hanoi, to allow Angie and her sisters to attend college.
Ha studied at the National Economics University, where she achieved a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Hospitality Management.
Ha involves herself in acting (actually just extras type of work no speaking roles),[8] hosting, modeling,[7][9] dancing,[10] TV shows,[11][12] movies,[13] music performances, and theater.
In 2007, Ha got her big break in the international modeling circuit, signing with Diva Models, which led to her relocating to Singapore. She has been photographed for a number of high end clothing,[14] international advertising campaigns.
In 2010, Ha signed an exclusive contract with Bigfoot Entertainment,[15] She was a regular cast member in the reality show Underwater Action Season 2,[11][12][16] which was about underwater photography by filmmaker and photographer Michael Gleissner,[17] that aired on worldwide satellite channel Fashion|One. After her TV appearances,[12] and many years of modeling,[18][19][20][21] HA turned her attention to another passion, music.[6] From May through September 2011, Ha became a resident DJ at New Asia Bar (Singapore), playing every Friday and Saturday. This club is one of the most luxurious clubs in Singapore and has been awarded World's Finest Club.[22] Ha has rapidly risen through the ranks of the DJ scene, and regularly gets her fans dancing at Singapore's elite clubs and events.[23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30] Ha has also played at other events including the Singapore Grand Prix (Formula 1),[1][31][32] and a major event for Fashion TV (FTV).[33] In 2011 Ha started producing her own music.[6] Her first release Cookies,[34] gained instant support from BBC Radio 1's Judge Jules,[35] Marco V,[36] Lisa Lashes,[37] and Michael Woods. Besides Officially being recognized by worldwide media as Asia's sexiest DJ, and Asia's first supermodel DJ,[23] Clubbing9ine Malaysia ranked Angie #5 in the Top Sexiest Supermodel DJs Worldwide.[23][43]
Ha is also an entrepreneur. She owns her own modeling agency called Think Model Management.[44]
In October 2012, Ha won Playboy's Miss Social[45][46] contest.
Vu was arrested by U.S. marshals at Kennedy Airport on November 4, 2015 as she attempted to board a flight to China with her 9-year-old daughter. She had bought a ticket on the flight that day after receiving a state court summons to give up custody of the youngster to the father, Richard Foger in Paris, according to papers filed in Brooklyn Federal Court. She has been denied bail due to being a flight risk and fugitive and remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals, awaiting possible extradition to France.[47]
