18 electrocuted after live wire falls on bus in Rajasthan; toll likely to rise

JAIPUR: At least 18 persons were electrocuted while several others sustained burn injuries on Friday when a bus in which they were travelling came in contact with a live wire in Pachewar area of Tonk district of Rajasthan, officials said.

The victims, mostly from a village near Pachevar, were on their way to take part in a wedding when the mishap occurred.

According to the police, the mishap occurred around 2.30 pm. "Many of the passengers tried to get out of the bus, but they couldn't as they were electrocuted. Some others survived because the electricity supply stopped after a while," a police officer said
