KRASNOYARSK, July 22. /TASS/. The death toll from the road accident in Russia’s Siberian Krasnoyarsk territory involving a shuttle bus has reached 11 people, 22 others were injured, including children, spokesman for the Interior Ministry regional department Vladimir Yurchenko told TASS.
Krasnoyarsk territory governor Viktor Tolokonsky has interrupted his working visit to North Yenisei district and flew to the scene of the accident. He intends to oversee the process of eliminating the aftermath of the tragedy and rendering assistance to the victims, a source in the regional government told TASS.
Meanwhile, an air medical service helicopter has departed to the scene of the road accident. "The passengers who sustained serious injuries will be delivered to the clinical hospital in Krasnoyarsk," spokesperson for the regional Health Ministry Yanina Strelkovskaya told TASS.
The bus heading for Krasnoyarsk was carrying 50 passengers. The federal highway is blocked at the scene of the accident.
The road traffic accident occurred at 09:15 local time [05:15 Moscow Time] close to the village of Shishkovo in Kozulsk district on the federal highway M-53 "Baikal".
