Silvia Vanessa Ponce de León Sánchez (born March 7, 1992) is aMexican model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2018. She is the first Mexican to be crowned as Miss World.[1]
Life and career[edit]
Ponce was born and raised in the city of Guanajuato and grew up in Mexico City. She holds a degree in International Business and is currently on the Board of Directors of a Rehab centre for girls. She fluent in both English and Spanish languages.

Mexico's Next Top Model (cycle 5)[edit]
Ponce began her career as a contestant on cycle 5 of Mexico's Next Top Model in 2014 and emerged the winner.[2][3]
Miss World México 2018[edit]
Ponce was crowned Miss World Mexico 2018 on 5 May 2018 at Salón Imperial de Villa Toscana, Sonora where 32 candidates competed for the national title. She won the title and was crowned by the outgoing Miss Mexico 2017 Andrea Meza. Then she proceeded to represent Mexico at Miss World 2018.[4]

Ponce represented Mexico at the Miss World 2018 pageant where she won the pageant and was crowned as Miss World 2018 by the outgoing titleholder Manushi Chhillar from India
