Five killed when plane that was headed to Columbus crashed in Arkansas

All five people aboard a plane headed to Columbus died when the plane crashed in Arkansas Wednesday afternoon, according to Little Rock television station KTHV. 

Little Rock Police were alerted to reports of a plane crash at 12:02 p.m. (Central Standard Time) Wednesday.

The twin-engine Beech BE20 plane was departing from Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock and headed towards John Glenn Columbus International Airport, the television station reported.

The crash happened outside a 3M plant in Little Rock, a couple of miles south of the airport, as a line of thunderstorms moved through the area that the National Weather Service said included winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour, according to the Associated Press.

Everyone on board the plane including the pilot were employees of CTEH, an environmental consulting firm in North Little Rock.

They were responding to an incident at the Schumann and Company Metals Plant in Bedford, Ohio in Cuyahoga County where a maintenance worker was killed and 13 people were sent to hospitals after an explosion and large fire Monday afternoon.
