南非約翰尼斯堡一處正在興建中的樓房，當地時間周一(18日)突然發生坍塌，現場正在工作的8名工人當場被壓死，另有10名工人送醫救治中。

施工單位發言人表示，搜救單位仍在試著搬開瓦礫堆，估計可能還有人受困在瓦礫堆中，也無法確認意外發生時現場所有人數。意外發生原因仍待調查。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）

Alberton building collapse death toll rises to 9

The death toll at the collapsed house in Alberton, south of Johannesburg had risen to nine by Monday afternoon.

ER24’s spokesperson Luyanda Majija said according to information they received there were 27 people on site when the building suddenly collapsed at the Meyersdal Eco Estate.
Several were injured while at least nine died when the house which was being re-renovated collapsed.
“There were 11 people with no injuries on site, two people were critically injured, two with moderate injuries and two with minor injuries and eight dead,” said Majija.
Two of the people are unaccounted for but are believed to be trapped under the rubble.
Majija said emergency teams had recovered all survivors and were now exhuming the bodies of the deceased in between the rubble.
According to paramedics on scene, the scene is very quiet with no response coming from inside the collapsed structure as paramedics call out to possible survivors.
Meyersdal Eco Estate released a statement confirming the collapse on, saying that it happened around 10.30am.
“Emergency services are still involved in rescue operations and the families of the affected workers have yet to be informed,” the statement said.
